We decided to explore the option of having a live band perform at our wedding; we searched craigslist and found a post from The Mixx. We contacted and set-up a time for my then fiancé and I to attend one of their rehearsals. After about an hour of watching, listening and talking to the band we were sold. Not only do they have an impressive set list, extraordinary musical talent, they went above and beyond to ensure our wedding was a success. They learned several songs to play just for our event and made several site visits to our venue that involved over an hour of driving time each way. They set-up their PA equipment for our guests to hear the ceremony, which was separate from the site they played for our reception. They MC-ed our whole event and their experience at weddings made ours an overwhelming success. Throughout the planning process, Rosa was in constant communication with us, making sure we were on track and satisfied. Our guests are still talking weeks later about their performance at our reception. It’s hard to summarize in a few words how much The Mixx made our wedding the happiest day of our life. We highly recommend The Mixx; hiring them was the best decision we made for our wedding. Cory and Kelly The Mixx band performed at our wedding, they have a great variety of Classic Rock, 80's, and Disco hits that they cover very well. The band was very personable and easy to work with. We first met then at their house during a one on one rehearsal. They even learned to play live our first dance song, Think About You, a Guns N Roses cover that they did just beautifully. The band provided a DJ, who was the the sound and light person as well. They set up early and provided Microphones for our speeches. Their breaks were short and there was constantly music playing, live or recorded. The large room we were in provided challenging acoustics, but they had no problems maintaining a good volume and descent sound. We wanted more than just the typical 'canned' wedding music. They showed up to rock for us and kept the beats going and the crowds dancing through most of the reception. The band really insisted we come up with the play lists and made sure we were involved first and foremost in setting the tempo for how the night went. My wife and I really appreciated being kept in the loop with the whole process. We look forward to hearing about future updates from the band and hope to see them again. NIck and Val  |
